On May 30, 2019, Dr. Glenn Lipson along with his co-presenter Dr. Jeffrey Rowe, MD addressed the need for more people to be aware of threat assessment in

Dr. Lipson first discussed the current stats on the types of harm that exist among children such as suicidal ideation, cyberbullying, and peer sexual assaults. The presentation offered a perspective and method to see how they can better identify, briefly screen, and assess for the risk of harm on a school campus. Also, the importance of getting help from the right source was emphasized. He mentioned the common mistakes made by the reporters and the benefit of taking advantage of the multi-disciplinary team.
During the Q&A, the members from STAT (Student Threat Assessment Team) including a deputy district attorney and a supervising child and adolescent psychiatrist joined in the discussion and added valuable information for the audience. We are very much fortunate to have a team of solid experts in a variety of disciplines who are both committed and passionate about improving the school safety.
